Have you ever had feelings of anxiety?

I think we'd be lying if we said no to this question. I know personally, the feeling of anxiety is one of the indicator lights in my life that my schedule has creeped out of control.

For me, anxiety also comes when I've become a worrier instead of a warrior.

Counselors deal with anxiety disorders.

Coaches can help with occasional feelings of anxiety.

What is anxiety and what is the difference?

"Anxiety is an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts and physical changes like increased blood pressure. People with anxiety disorders usually have recurring intrusive thoughts or concerns. They may avoid certain situations out of worry." American Psychiatric Association.

🚦When one feels anxiety, it is because your amygdala has processed and interpreted some incoming sensory signals and has perceived them to be a threat! During this time, some stress hormones are released into your body (cortisol and norepinephrine).

🐘Your brain then calls upon the hippocampus, which encodes the signal and categorizes it as a memory or calls upon an old memory that it can connect with.

🔌Our brains love to make connections!

💡How can a coach help with anxiety?

💥By helping you see things from a different perspective or a mindset shift

💥By helping you put some strategies into place going forward

💥By helping you create a plan for the next time you feel these emotions.

💥By exploring relaxation techniques to put into place in your life
