How does saying no help you?Oct 29, 2021
🙌The over/under cycle shows up in our lives daily. This dreaded cycle keeps us from reaching our goals and keeps life mundane. It keeps us from living into our preferred future.
🙌Learning to say “no” helps with one of the “Over/Under cycle” factors that I help people with daily (OVERfunctioning).
🙌Saying no, helps you live in integrity with your values.
🙌Saying no, helps you make time for what matters most.
🙌Saying no, helps you think about your thoughts.
🙌Saying no gives you courage and confidence.
🙌Saying no is sometimes uncomfortable, but it is way more comfortable than cognitive dissonance.
🙌The thing is when you walk away from your day with cognitive dissonance, there is a desire for you to numb the uncomfortable emotions.
🙌There are various ways to numb those uncomfortable emotions: unwanted sweets, a glass of wine, an evening of mindless television, or endless scrolling past the same stories over and over. You get the idea…...
🙌So if you want to learn how to finish your day well, you have three options.
🙌Learn to say no
🙌Learn to manage your emotions and thoughts
🙌Learn to quit the over/under cycle
🙌Reach out if I can help. I have room for three people to live their best life.
