Give Thanks

Nov 25, 2021

As you know, this year has been a challenge for our family.

My husband was diagnosed with cancer and we traveled the road of chemo and stem cell transplant. Life was turned upside and inside out.

It hasn’t been easy as we navigate the treatments and the immunosuppression in the middle of COVID, but we have so much to be grateful for!

We give thanks daily, but today, I’d like to give thanks publicly to all who stood beside our family.

-We thank the Lord who comforts us in our times of trouble and pours out His love and grace on us in ways you cannot imagine.  We thank Him for the peaceful presence He provides in the middle of the storm; this got us through some really hard times.

-We thank our kids for all the pivots and our family for standing by our side.

-We thank all of you who prayed for our family and for my husband’s healing.

-We thank our church family, both locally, and universally, for your prayers and constant support.

-We thank our friends for loving us in the middle floods of tears and fatigue.

-We thank our coworkers, both Richard, and mine, who poured out love, gifts, encouragement, and picked up extra shifts for all the doctor's appointments and treatments.

-We thank the doctors and nurses who work so hard to keep those enduring these hard treatments comfortable and hopeful.

-We are thankful for the word remission and that we got to hear it!

-We are thankful that this gets to be a chapter in our story

-We are thankful that we get to celebrate another Thanksgiving counting our blessings together, even without our extended family.  We are grateful they are near even though they are not with us.

-We are thankful for air to breathe, food to eat, water to drink, and people to love.

-We give thanks for this and so much more!

Today, hug your families a little tighter, love them a bit bigger, and listen a little deeper!

Blessing in abundance as we give thanks today! "I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds." Psalm 9:1
